About eight miles south of Olathe, Ocheltree is a historic Johnson County community that reflects an earlier chapter of Kansas settlement. It began as a small rural stop in the nineteenth century and once had enough local activity to support a post office and serve nearby residents. Over time, growth shifted toward larger nearby communities, and Ocheltree gradually became more of a historic place name than an active town.
